Simply a better idea:
The revolutionary Counter-Seal® technology makes it easy to enjoy an undermount sink in a laminate or tile countertop. Installed at the time of countertop construction, Counter-Seal® products give you greater variety with today’s clean, uncluttered look.
High Pressure Laminate Applications
Counter-Seal ring or ring-in-board is custom ordered once sink style, ring color and ring height (thickness of substrate material) has been determined. Standard Counter-Seal ring and ring-in-board heights are 5/8″, 11/16” or 3/4″. Counter-Seal product can either be installed by countertop fabricator, or by the skilled purchaser who chooses product from Counter-Seal Corp’s do-it-yourself line.

*See schematic below for tile applications.
Tile Applications: Component Part Description
Counter-Seal ring is pre-installed in a 3/4″ x 42″ x 25-1/2″ board. Counter-Seal ring height is determined by adding together the thickness of the substrate material, cement board (if used), tile and grout; ring heights available for tile applications are 1″, 1-1/8″, 1-1/4″, 1-3/8″ and 1-1/2″. Counter-Seal ring is flush with underside of board with rubber gasket inserted in underside of ring. Sink-mounting hardware is included and threaded connectors are inserted in underside of board. Counter-Seal ring protrudes above top surface of board enabling tile setter to abut tile to ring. Counter-Seal ring is slightly profiled on top surface and finish-sanded – no fabrication required.
